Tips for Better Kettle Bell Swings

Writer's picture: Katie NassiffKatie Nassiff

Tips to improve your kettlebell swing 🙌

  • Start with the weight on the ground at eye level

  • Lock in your core and lats (pull your shoulders down and back)

  • Pull the weight back between your legs to begin building momentum

  • Keep your back and neck long and neutral

  • Drive the weight with your hips

  • Arms don't need to go above the shoulders

  • Swing the kettlebell between your legs, high enough where it feels like you're theoretically protecting your groin

If you struggle with getting this exercise down… well, then I’d say you’re pretty normal.

Start light, master the technique, and then focus on load and power.

Swing forth!
